2021 was a challenging year on the road. The clinic’s truck, a Nissan Hardbody, has been a tank throughout our 8+ years. Purchased in February 2013, it has taken abuse from the worst road conditions imaginable and has held up extraordinarily well. But the truck is worn-out and needs to be retired from the bad road. It also needs to be replaced with a vehicle that has a snorkel (allowing air intake from above vehicle when partially submerged) due to the vehicle regularly having to traverse very deep mud and water. We are in desperate need to replace the Nissan since it is costing us anywhere from $200 to $1,200 in repairs each time we drive to Monrovia. (Yes, the road is really that bad!) We are so thankful for the Rotary Club of Spring Lake, MI for all their efforts to date in working toward raising funding for a new Toyota Land Cruiser. Thank you, also, to all of you that have come along side the Rotary through donations and advocating for our vehicle needs. The Land Cruiser is a much stronger vehicle than our Nissan and designed to handle challenging road conditions such as these… and it comes standard with a snorkel.
